WordPress & Laravel Developer
We’re looking to grow our remote team with a WordPress & Laravel developer to help support existing client work and lead new development projects. Occupying a key role in the team, we want you to make your mark on our approach, process and collective success.

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is aligned with our values and the charity, non-profit, and NGO clients that we collaborate with. You’ll need to be able to communicate well with our clients and with us internally as a team. Knowing how to work independently and as a team is crucial.
Being a proactive person is a must. This is for both planning and managing your own time but also in seeking to learn new things, and to share those learnings with the wider team to ensure that we’re collectively always evolving.
As a web developer you:
- Will be leading bespoke projects from start to finish, managing the end-to-end development process, including project management and client communications.
- Will play a proactive role in supporting and taking ownership of our Bureau+ support clients, ensuring they continue to gain value from their products and our expertise.
- Have good front-end development skills, thinking of design in terms of reusable components.
- Have a good understanding of Vue, including data stores, and modular components.
- Have a strong understanding of bespoke WordPress development using the Lumberjack framework.
- Have a strong understanding of Laravel development, including database design, testing, best practices, security, etc.
- Have experience in designing, building and consuming APIs.
- Have a good working knowledge of MySQL, with a focus on database design, performance and scalability.
- Think about development in terms of scalable systems instead of rigid pages.
- Will be managing code via Github.
- Have good knowledge of deployment processes, focusing on reliability and quality assurance.
- Understands code review processes, both receiving and reviewing those of others.
- Be able to accurately estimate time for development tasks
- Have a good working knowledge of server infrastructure and maintenance (e.g. AWS, Linode, Debian, Laragel Forge etc)
Bonus points if you have experience with:
- Laravel Nova
- Inertia.js
- Stripe
- Test-driven development
- Figma
