The Idea Bureau – Who We Are

Judging from our post on LinkedIn, it seemed that lots of you liked the ‘reintroduction’ update about us! We thought we’d give you a slightly more in-depth insight into The Idea Bureau and who we are, what we stand for and what we deliver for our clients.
So, who are we?
The Idea Bureau is currently our Design Lead & Director, Tash Hockey, and Technical Lead & Director, Ben Everard. For over a decade, we’ve been helping our purpose-led charity, non-profit and NGO partners accelerate their impact, make a mark and achieve extraordinary things. With a strong track record of delivering results, our lean structure means we can provide our full energy and attention to every project, with minimal risk to and maximum impact for our clients.
Trusted by the United Nations, NHS, International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), National Children’s Bureau and more, we offer impactful and innovative digital solutions for organisations that care. We pride ourselves on working specifically with charities and non-profit organisations, as it allows us to put our skills to good use for the things we’re passionate about.
To do the best for our clients, we keep it simple, lean and future-proof. We want our products to last you for the long haul. Our aim is to deliver solutions to engage both you and your audience, with adaptable, sturdy and growth-proof systems that will slot into your organisation’s vision. We won’t bore you with unnecessary technical jargon, either.

What makes us different?
We put our values at the heart of what we do. A little while ago, we wrote a blog post on why we think it’s imperative to have company values. We’ve spent over a decade dedicating our digital expertise to the charity and non-profit sector, during which time we’ve soaked up the enthusiasm that our clients have for their cause, and allowed that to influence our values and the impact we have.

How we treat our clients
There are a number of things we pride ourselves on offering our clients: our loyalty, our honesty, the impact we have on our environment and society, and our collaboration in bringing their projects to life. We care about our clients and want them to succeed. Our interactions should never feel like transactions and we strive to ensure transparency in all our projects. In building strong client relationships, it’s so important to us that we promote trust and openness, alongside giving our knowledge and expertise. Ultimately, we want to become an extension of your team, allowing the project to flow effortlessly, with the knowledge that we are there to collaborate with and support you.
How we’re making a positive impact
Our impact on the environment, and on our local and global communities, is incredibly important to us. As well as increasing our knowledge on these areas, we want to demonstrate how we actively advocate for them through our day-to-day operations, such as implementing carbon reduction efforts via fully remote working and green hosting. We’re also actively supporting organisations working to promote good stewardship of our environment, such as Ecologi and Protect Earth.
How we take a stand for what we believe in
There are certain industries and sectors that we refuse to work with and that’s okay. You have to stand by your principles in business, and we couldn’t in good conscience work with anyone who stands at odds with our values, for example: the gambling industry.
